Surety Underwriting Services Specialist

Job Purpose:

To support underwriting activities in the surety department

Key responsibilities:

  1.  Make reference calls on contract surety submissions
  2. Make job status inquiry calls
  3. Bid/Performance/Payment bond issuance
  4. Submit billing for contract/commercial bonds
  5. Submit and manage direct billing for renewal bonds
  6. Respond to and follow-up on agent inquiries and calls
  7. Issue consents of surety
  8. Back up commercial bond underwriter
  9.  Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 1-2 years insurance experience either at an insurance company or agency
  • Proficient in the use of contemporary business software (Microsoft Suite)

Physical Requirements:

  • Job conditions may require light lifting, sitting, walking and standing
  • May be required to sit at a desk or computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands and wrists

Salary Range:

$30,000 - $40,000
